Direct Effect Awards
CHFA’s Direct Effect Awards recognizes 15 Colorado nonprofit organizations whose missions align with our work to strengthen Colorado by investing in affordable housing and community development.
CHFA was proud to annouce the 2019 Corporate Giving Direct Effect Award winners on December 20, 2019.
The following nonprofits were each awarded $25,000:

2019 chfa david w. herlinger golf tournament
CHFA's 2019 David W. Herlinger Golf Tournament was held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 and the beneficiary was The Empowerment Program (Empowerment) - a behavioral health organization that empowers women to overcome issues of substance abuse, trauma, mental health, homelessness, poverty, unemployment, and involvement in the criminal justice system.

On certain days of the year, our staff raises funds for local nonprofits. Staff members may wear jeans on these designated days if they make a $5 or $10 donation to the organization whose work aligns with our mission of affordable housing and community development. Each quarter, a new nonprofit beneficiary is selected by our staff-led Volunteer Committee.

Days of Service and Community Involvement LeaveCHFA encourages its employees to engage with the communities we serve through volunteerism. Each employee is giving 8 hours of paid Community Involvement Leave to volunteer at a local nonprofit of their choice. In addition, CHFA organizes team-oriented Days of Service throughout the year.
