The Gathering Place: A Refuge for Rebuilding Lives
This Colorado nonprofit was founded in 1986 to serve Denver’s women and children who are experiencing homelessness. The Gathering Place is Denver’s only organization providing safety and services for this population during the day on a drop-in basis. Every month the nonprofit serves over 5,500 meals, provides food and hygiene products to nearly 250 families and provides a safe place for more than 400 children to play. Growing demand for The Gathering Place’s services and strong community support gave the nonprofit the momentum it needed to raise funds for a new location.
With long term fixed rate financing from CHFA, The Gathering Place was able to construct a new 28,000 square foot facility to replace its smaller 11,000 square foot building. The new building has allowed The Gathering Place to better serve its clients and meet its mission. CHFA was pleased to partner with Mountain States Bank on the financing of this project. |
Curious Theatre
The Curious Theatre Company was founded by director Chip Walton in 1997 with a mission to “awaken the community to important contemporary issues through provocative new theatre”. The theatre produces a number of plays each season and sponsors Curious New Voices, a developmental project for young playwrights in the Denver area.
In partnership with the City of Denver’s Office of Economic Development, CHFA was able to provide long term fixed rate financing for The Curious Theatre Company’s acquisition of a commercial building located on Acoma Street in Denver. The acquisition ensures The Curious Theatre Company will be providing the city with exciting plays for many years to come. |
City Bark
This state of the art dog day care provides exceptional service and amenities to its clients and online video cams for the dog’s owners. A strong demand for City Bark’s services prompted the owners to expand by opening new facilities and relocate one of its existing facilities from a rented space to a larger owner-occupied space. The move helped the company expand its maximum capacity, establish itself as the premier provider of dog day care, and add up to nine new jobs to the local economy.
With CHFA’s long term fixed rate financing in conjunction with SBA’s 504 loan program, City Bark was able to secure stable financing for the acquired commercial real estate. CHFA was pleased to partner with Citywide Bank on this project.
