MEDIA ADVISORY CHFA and Congressman Perlmutter Announce New Program to Bring Stimulus Dollars Home to Coloradans
(DENVER) - Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) and U.S. Congressman Ed Perlmutter (D-7) will announce a new home mortgage program to help Coloradans leverage the $8,000 first time homebuyer federal tax credit into down payment and closing cost assistance on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. at CHFA's offices located at 1981 Blake St., Denver, CO 80202.
The first time homebuyer federal tax credit was authorized by Congress in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. It offers first time homebuyers a maximum $8,000 tax credit for qualifying first time homebuyers who purchase and close on a home between Jan. 1, 2009 and Dec. 1, 2009.
