Republic Mortgage Insurance Corp (RMIC) Suspension Announcement

On May 9th 2008, CHFA announced suspending four mortgage insurance companies due to downgraded ratings from Moody’s and S&P.

Until further notice, only the following two companies are CHFA-approved private mortgage insurance providers:

Genworth Mortgage Insurance Corp

United Guaranty Residential Insurance Company (UGI/AIG)

Effective with all reservations made on or after Tuesday July 22nd, 2008 at 11:59pm CHFA will no longer accept Republic Mortgage Insurance Corp (RMIC) as an eligible provider of conventional mortgage insurance.
