MERS is Partnering With CHFA Beginning August 1, 2009

Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) is now MERS Ready! The MERSŪ System provides better loan tracking of the ownership of each mortgage. More than 95% of our Participating Lenders are already MERS Ready.

If you are already using MERS or are identified as MERS Ready, you can begin registering CHFA loans in MERS for all Reservations made on or after August 1. If you are not using MERS, there are specific instructions on how to become MERS Ready or instructions on how CHFA can register loans with MERS on your behalf, for a fee.

A letter with a comprehensive explanation and instructions will be sent to Participating Lenders on 07.27.2009; the same information will also be posted on CHFA's website on July 28th.
