United Guaranty Prohibits Purchase Money Seconds

Effective Monday August 18^th, United Guaranty Insurance (UGI) will no longer insure any Mortgage Loan with a purchase money second, including the CHFA Second Mortgage Loan. UGI will otherwise continue to offer private mortgage insurance.

This decision also impacts CHFA’s HomeAccess Suite of Programs because UGI was the only private mortgage insurance company to offer insurance on those Mortgage Loans. Therefore, effective Monday August 18^th, acceptable loan types in the HomeAccess Suite of Programs will be FHA, RD, and Conventional Uninsured.
