CHFA Announces Steve Johnson as the New Director of Commercial Lending
CHFA is pleased to announce that Steve Johnson has been promoted to director of commercial lending. In his new role, Steve will lead CHFA’s multifamily lending, Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) allocation, and small business lending teams.
Steve began working for CHFA in 1996 as a business finance loan officer. In 1999, he was promoted to manager of business lending production, where he successfully grew CHFA’s production from $10 million to over $100 million annually. Most recently, Steve has strategically guided the small business team’s efforts to diversify and expand the products available to help small businesses access capital following the economic decline. Steve says that what drew him to CHFA, and continues to be the most rewarding part of his job is the opportunity to do “banking with a mission.”
Steve is the vice chair of the Colorado Enterprise Fund, and a board member of the Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA), a national organization designed to strengthen and support state and local economic development finance organizations. He graduated from Hillsdale College in Michigan with a bachelor of arts degree in marketing and finance. Today, he resides in Broomfield with his wife Lynne and six children.
