Property tax

CHFA includes your property tax in the escrow portion of your monthly mortgage payment. The total amount paid for the previous tax year is divided by 12, and this amount is added to your monthly mortgage payment.

You will receive a tax bill from your county every January. File this with your paperwork for next year’s income tax returns. CHFA receives an electronic copy of your bill.

If you have any questions regarding the amount of your tax bill, contact your county assessor’s office.

Call the loan department at 303.297.7493 (option 9) or toll free, 888.925.5720 with questions about your mortgage payments, taxes, insurance and payoff of your CHFA loan. You can also reach them by email at loanservicing@chfainfo.com.

Helpful Tip
When you get your tax bill, compare the amount to last year’s bill. If there is a significant increase, you may want to make additional deposits into your escrow account with your monthly payment. That way, you won’t have a shortfall.
