Denver – The National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA) awarded first place honors to the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) in two categories as part of their annual awards for best programs, projects, and practices.
CHFA’s 2006 community report was recognized as “Best Annual Report” and CHFA’s home loan management system – STARSystem -- earned first place for “Technology Management Innovation.”
CHFA’s 2006 Community Report was modeled after the travel guides of the 1950s, and integrated historical information from the various regions of the state with facts about CHFA. In addition to its appearance and content, NCSHA recognized the Community Report for its multi-use design.
The STARSystem is CHFA’s management system for its mortgage loans, which account for 70% of CHFA’s revenue. NCSHA praised CHFA’s goal of implementing new business processes with innovative technologies that made CHFA more agile and efficient. NCSHA represents housing finance agencies throughout the United States by advocating the programs they implement that result in more affordable housing.
