Direct Effect Awards
Direct Effect Awards recognizes 15 Colorado nonprofit organizations whose missions align with our work to strengthen Colorado by investing in affordable housing and community development.

On certain days of the year, our staff raises funds for local nonprofits. Staff members may wear jeans on these designated days if they make a $5 or $10 donation to the organization whose work aligns with our mission of affordable housing and community development. Each quarter, a new nonprofit beneficiary is selected by our staff-led Volunteer Committee.

Days of Service and Community Involvement Leave
CHFA encourages its employees to engage with the communities we serve through volunteerism. Each employee is given 8 hours of paid Community Involvement Leave to volunteer at a local nonprofit of their choice. In addition, CHFA organizes team-oriented Days of Service throughout the year. 2020 drive it home for mt. carmel
In lieu of CHFA’s annual David W. Herlinger Golf Tournament, CHFA held Drive it Home for Mt. Carmel, a virtual donation drive, to raise money for Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center. Mt. Carmel provides wraparound services and resources for military, veterans, and their families, including employment and transition services, and behavioral health counseling and wellness programs. CHFA raised $75,000 to help ensure Mt. Carmel’s continued ability to provide specialized services and resources for veterans and their families.
