Senate Finance Committee Unanimously Supports HB19-1228
Late Tuesday evening, the State Senate Finance Committee passed HB19-1228, “Increasing the State Affordable Housing Tax Credit”, on a unanimous 7-0 vote. The bill will now advance to be considered before the Senate Appropriations Committee.
HB19-1228 is co-sponsored in the Senate by Senator Rachel Zenzinger and Senator Jack Tate. If adopted into law, it would increase the amount of state Affordable Housing Tax Credits available for annual allocation by CHFA from $5 million to $10 million for 2020-2024. Testimony on behalf of the bill was provided by Jerilynn Martinez, CHFA Marketing and Community Relations Director, and Richard Wheelock, Clear Creek County Commissioner on behalf of the County and CCAT (Colorado Counties Acting Together).
