‚ÄčBill Increasing State Affordable Housing Tax Credits Progresses in the House

CHFA, in partnership with a robust coalition of housing, community, nonprofit, and business leaders, has been working to increase the amount of state Affordable Housing Tax Credits (AHTC) available for annual allocation from $5 million to $10 million for 2020 through 2024.

The bill proposing this increase, HB19-1228, sponsored by Rep. Shannon Bird. Rep. Brianna Titone, Sen. Jack Tate, and Sen. Rachel Zenzinger, passed out of the House Appropriations Committee on an 8-3 bipartisan vote on Friday, April 12. Late that same evening, the bill also passed Second Reading in the House of Representatives on a voice vote. The bill is calendared for Third Reading in the House on Monday, April 15. If successful, HB19-1228 will advance to consideration by the State Senate.

Please contact your State Representative to urge their support for HB19-1228.
