Upcoming Event: Free Homebuyer Education Coming to Glenwood Springs

Megan Herrera

(Glenwood Springs, Colo.) –
Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) is partnering with Brothers Redevelopment, Inc. to offer a free homebuyer education class for those living in Garfield County and the surrounding region. The class is open to anyone interested in buying a home and attendees will learn comprehensive information to help prepare them for homeownership. In 2018, more than 13,000 households throughout Colorado enrolled in a CHFA-sponsored homebuyer education class, demonstrating high demand for pre-purchase guidance.

The all-day class will be held on Saturday, May 18. Seating is limited. Please visit Brothers Redevelopment's homebuyer workshop page to register.

Mario Gonzalez from Brothers Redevelopment is teaching the class, along with special guest, Carolyn Meadowcroft, senior residential loan officer and vice president of Vectra Bank in Glenwood Springs. Topics explored will include:

    • Are you ready to buy a home?
    • Budgeting, credit, and financial management
    • Mortgage loan process
    • Shopping for a home
