Upcoming Event: Free Fair Housing Class in English and Spanish

(Alamosa, Colo.) – Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) is partnering with the Denver Metro Fair Housing Center (DMFHC) to offer a free, two-hour class, "Fair Housing 101." The class will be offered in both English and Spanish and will be held on Thursday, August 30. The class in Spanish will be between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., and the class in English will be offered between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Registration is required and may be completed by visiting CHFA's website:

The training will introduce attendees to federal and state fair housing laws and will include:

    • A summary of DMFHC's mission and services
    • A brief history of the Federal Fair Housing Act
    • Examples of housing discrimination
    • Discussion of the federal and state protected classes
    • An in-depth look at reasonable accommodations and modifications
