call to action: contact your congressperson and urge them to support the affordable housing credit improvement act of 2019

CHFA is asking community leaders, housing advocates, and business leaders to support the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act of 2019 (S. 1703/H.R. 3077) by asking Colorado Congress members to co-sponsor the bill and encourage its inclusion as part of any year-end tax legislation that may advance.

The AHCIA of 2019 will strengthen and improve the federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit and Private Activity Bond programs by incentivizing the construction of 550,000+ affordable homes in the next 10 years, and will generate an estimated:

  • $48.5 billion in wages and business income,
  • $19.1 billion in additional tax revenue, and
  • 510,000 jobs.

Below is a list of the Colorado Congress members and their contact information. Please also thank current bill co-sponsors: U.S. Senator Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator Cory Gardner, U.S. Representative Jason Crow, U.S. Representative Joe Neguse, and U.S. Representative Ed Perlmutter. Urge current co-sponsors to encourage their leadership and tax committee chairs to advance AHCIA in any year-end tax legislation.
