Payment Options

CHFA offers several ways for customers to make their monthly payments.

CHFA is committed to our home mortgage customers during this difficult time and is continually monitoring available loss mitigation and home retention options. Those experiencing difficulties paying their CHFA home mortgage loan due to impacts of COVID–19, or other financial circumstances, are encouraged to work with CHFA’s Loan Servicing Team by applying for hardship assistance online at: https://dmi.yourmortgageonline.com/disclosuresandhotlines/hardshipassistance. You may also contact CHFA Loan Servicing’s Loss Mitigation team at 866.397.5370. Please know that CHFA Loan Servicing is experiencing a higher than usual call volume at this time, therefore hold and response times may be longer than expected.

Please remember that payments are due by the first of each month and late fees may be assessed if payment is received after the 16th of each month.

Always include your loan number when submitting your payment.​

If you make your monthly payment through an online or third-party bill pay service, such as your bank, please make sure the provider includes your loan number and ensure the payment is sent to:

Do you want to save time and postage every month? Sign up for CHFA's Automatic Payment Program (APP). Once you sign up with APP, we will automatically deduct your mortgage payment from your checking or savings account each month. Please contact CHFA Loan Servicing at 855.587.8655 to have a form sent to you.

CHFA is offering a new automatic payment plan to help with your monthly budgeting. Unlike our budget drafting option (below), this option does not reduce your mortgage term, but it also does not require making a monthly payment in advance.

Here's how it works:

  • Your total monthly mortgage payment is electronically withdrawn from your checking or savings account in two separate increments. Each withdrawal will be one half of your total monthly mortgage payment.
  • You choose from two options for withdrawal date: the first half payment can be withdrawn on the 1st or 5th of the month, and the second half can be withdrawn on the 10th or the 15th of each month. If you do not select a preference, the payments will be withdrawn on the 1st and the 10th.

If you would like to sign up for the program, fill out the form, selecting “Semi-Monthly Draft,” then email it in with a scanned copy of a voided check, to set up the ACH payments.

With Western Union Quick Collect, you can pay your CHFA mortgage loan securely and receive proof of payment in minutes. Western Union offices are located in many of the stores and businesses you regularly frequent. 

Pay your mortgage in three easy steps: 

  1. Call 1.800.238.5772 to find the nearest Western Union/Quick Collect Service Center. 
  2. Bring your cash payment to the Western Union Service Center and advise the agent you are a Dovenmuehle Quick Collect Customer. 
  3. Use the special password “WOODFIELD, IL” in order to get a special rate. Don’t forget to include your loan number!
