 Project Based Section 8 Recertification Preparation

  1. Start 120 days before your anniversary date (and then 90, and 60 days out)
     
  2. Report to Property Management:
     
    1. all income - requires third party verification
        1. employment/self-employment (pay stubs, tax returns, etc.)
        2. social security/pensions
        3. child support (court order docs)
        4. gift amounts (cash, cell phone bills, insurance)
    2. all asset info 
        1. bank accounts (bank statements)
        2. direct express debit cards (current balance)
        3. real estate
        4. retirement accounts
    3. expenses including:
      1. medical bills
      2. prescriptions
      3. mileage to medical appointments
         
  3. CHFA recommends meeting in -person with property management to complete your recertification.

  1. *For LIHTC only (not layered with any other funding like HOME)
