2026 marks the fortieth anniversary of the establishment of the federal Housing Tax Credit. The video above discusses the impact of the program across four decades, including the stories of several Coloradans who live at properties supported by Housing Tax Credits. The video was produced for CHFA’s 2026 Housing Credit Summit.

“One of the benefits of the Housing Tax Credit program is that it’s one of those few partnerships where everybody involved wins,” explains CHFA Executive Director and CEO, Thomas Bryan. “It’s a win for us to be able to allocate credits to a developer who then builds affordable housing, it’s a win for the developer who gets to then take those credits and partner with an investor and build a community, and then ultimately, it’s a win for the residents who live there.”
