chfa awarded over $500,000 for housing counseling

(DENVER) – Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) has been awarded a $501,942 grant to support housing counseling agencies located throughout Colorado.

CHFA’s grant was awarded from the HUD Office of Housing Counseling. Funds will support a wide array of counseling services including credit repair, rental housing, home purchase, and foreclosure prevention counseling. During the 2021 program year, HUD grant funds administered by CHFA supported housing counseling agencies in serving more than 5,600 households.

“HUD-approved housing counselors are essential community resources, offering guidance to help Coloradans achieve and maintain housing stability. CHFA values the opportunity to support our housing counseling partners with the HUD grant,” said Cris White, CHFA executive director and CEO.
