second chance center named beneficiary of chfa’s 2021 david w. herlinger golf tournament

(DENVER) – Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) has named Second Chance Center (SCC) as the beneficiary of its 2021 David W. Herlinger Golf Tournament. SCC's mission is to help formerly incarcerated people transition to lives of success and fulfillment. SCC’s comprehensive housing program includes emergency shelter, transitional housing, affordable workforce housing, and permanent supportive housing. The organization’s training, apprenticeship and employment program is geared to generate “mortgage-paying” salaries in partnership with local employers to fill the skilled labor gap. SCC serves approximately 1,800 people every year.

CHFA hosts an annual golf tournament to benefit a local nonprofit whose work coincides with CHFA’s mission of affordable housing and community development. The event is named in memory of CHFA’s former Executive Director David W. Herlinger, who passed away in 2012. It serves as a reminder of his passion for the game of golf and for helping nonprofit organizations whose work supports affordable housing in Colorado.

This year’s event will be held on Wednesday, September 29, at Fossil Trace Golf Course in Golden. The following are the tournament’s sponsors to date: Barclays, Blue Modus, Brean Capital, CDT, Fairway Mortgage, First Bank, Hoffman Nies Dave & Meyer LLP, Janeway Law Firm, Kutak Rock, RBC Capital Markets, Palace Construction, Pinkard Construction, Sherman & Howard, Swap Financial, Wells Fargo, and Zions Bank Corporate Trust.
