“Reasonable Accommodation Requests for Assistance Animals” is a practical 90-minute training designed to help housing professionals confidently navigate accommodation requests involving assistance animals. Participants will learn a framework for reasonable accommodations, including the distinction between service animals and assistance animals, how to evaluate requests, and what documentation may or may not be requested under fair housing laws.

The training covers best practices for processing requests, recognizing reliable third-party verification, avoiding common compliance pitfalls, and responding consistently while balancing operational concerns. Real-world scenarios and examples will help attendees apply concepts to everyday situations.

By the end of the session, attendees will leave with a clear framework for evaluating and processing reasonable accommodation requests for assistance animals in a compliant and consistent manner.
