In this interactive session, expert Marisol Solarte-Erlacher will discuss the impacts of trauma and stress, how the brain responds to trauma, and how those responses manifest in the landscape of the present-day workplace.
Participants will come away with concrete skills to address the natural course of the brain’s responses and help build resilience in themselves and their team members.
Marisol’s approach provides a clear, neutral path to help you support your team members and yourself. You don’t need to be a therapist or get any details of ‘what happened’ in order to help. You will also be provided with some basic cues to look for in determining when you or your team member may need the assistance of a trained trauma recovery clinician.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will gain an objective understanding of the autonomic brain responses to trauma and how the brain processes trauma;
- Participants will learn how and when to intervene with a traumatized employee to mitigate effects; and,
- Participants will learn how to reprocess trauma so that persons impacted develop higher resilience and fewer of the negative impacts of trauma.
As an offering within the Housing Professionals Institute, class credits may be allocated to a Leadership Certificate, Management Certificate, or Onsite Professionals Certificate.
This class will not be recorded.
