Summer 2022 Outreach in DurangoThe summer season was full of opportunities for CHFA to listen and learn from communities around the state about local needs and priorities. Through events and listening tours, CHFA connected with many stakeholders and community members. The valuable information gained will help CHFA identify trends and cultivate ideas to consider in its 2023 strategic planning.

Engagement sesions included:

Statewide Outreach and Engagement Forum Series
(July 27-August 9)

CHFA, Housing Colorado, and the Colorado Department of Local Affairs Division of Housing (DOH) were pleased to host six statewide Outreach and Engagement Forums this summer. Participants heard from each organization on policies, programs, and recent housing-related legislation. Additionally, through facilitated discussions, participants provided perspective and opinions on how existing programs are working, where additional support could be most useful and effective, and the resource, research, and technical assistance needs of their communities.

More than 500 attendees from around the state participated. Events were held in Colorado’s mountain resort, Denver metro, Western Slope, northern, southern, and southwestern regions. Housing Colorado is compiling a report of the feedback from each event to be shared with all participants during the fourth quarter of 2022. Colorado Counties Inc. (CCI) Summer Conference
(May 31-June 2), Vail

This event was hosted by the CCI Foundation and offered networking and education opportunities for attendees to connect with county governments.

San Juan Rural Philanthropy Days
(June 7-9), Ridgway

Hosted by Community Resource Center, this event convened nonprofit professionals, funders, community leaders, and elected officials from the San Juan region to network and share knowledge.  

Colorado Municipal League (CML) 100th Annual Conference
(June 21-24), Breckenridge

CML hosted the premier meeting for municipal officials in Colorado, attracting more than 1,000 leaders from cities and towns throughout the state. The event was a four-day series of educational events for attendees to learn, collaborate, and network.

 

CHFA Community Listening Sessions

CHFA Community Relationship Managers facilitated several listening sessions throughout the state, including those in Summit County, Grand Junction, the San Luis Valley, and southwest Colorado, (Durango, Towaoc, Mancos, Silverton, and Montrose).
